James F. Frugé, DDS

Orthodontics is not just my profession, it is also a passion for me. I love what I do and really enjoy the process of constantly improving people’s health and self-confidence. Being a part of the whole process is truly magical. It’s amazing what tiny changes we can make to create a huge difference in someone’s life.

Education and Continuing Education

In order to become an orthodontist, I attended Louisiana State University School of Dentistry, where I attained my DDS as well as my Certificate in Orthodontics. Although my formal education is complete, I am always studying the latest and evolving orthodontic methods and technologies.

As a part of my continuing education, I am an active member in the Schulman study group, as well as Ormco Insiders, and the Women's Hospital Cleft Palate clinic. In addition, I am a Louisiana Damon Study Group Chairman, a member of the Louisiana Damon Pankey Occlusal Study Club, and the Progressive Study Club. Our practice always strives to be on the cutting edge of the latest technology. Continuing education is necessary to stay up to date.

In the Office

Many of my patients come in with self-image issues due to the appearance of their teeth. I always empathize with them, and they find comfort in knowing their smile will be beautiful and they’re taking the first step by being in our office. By the end of treatment, patients have transformed not only their smiles, but also their confidence! My favorite part of serving our patients is getting to know them as individuals and helping them build self-esteem.

After more than 25 years of giving orthodontic care, I feel so fortunate to be a part of this wonderful community and to have patients who appreciate so much of what we do for them. I love the interaction with each person who comes in for an appointment, and the constant positive feedback we receive!

In the office, we love to laugh and interact with our patients! We always want to know what's going on in their lives at each appointment, and we take the time to catch up and build connections with each patient. Our team enjoys doing high quality work. The staff loves feeling that we provide not only the best orthodontics but also exceptional service. We take pride in being the best!

Family Life

My wife, Louise, and I have been married for 34 years, and love living in Baton Rouge. Our son, Bradley, works in our practice. We also have another son, Ryan, and a daughter, Ellen. Will and Tucker are our Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and the only members of our family still living at home! In my spare time, I enjoy golf, cooking, travel, all LSU sports, and any family activity where we are all together.
